Bio
Bernie is a director in Armanino’s State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, specializing in sales and use tax. He has more than 30 years of industry and public accounting experience, serving clients in various industries including construction, manufacturing, mining, retail and financial services.
Before joining Armanino, Bernie was the principal for the SALT services at Brown Smith Wallace. Bernie previously worked at PwC, where he served as director, managing the St. Louis indirect tax practice. Bernie assisted clients with sales tax audits, sales tax refund opportunities, due diligence, multi-state tax decision matrices and sales tax compliance for more than 20 years. Before that, he served as a supervising auditor of corporate income tax for the Missouri Department of Revenue for 12 years.
Bernie earned a B.S. in accounting from Quincy University. He is a Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (CMI). He is also a member of the Associated Industries of Missouri and serves on the tax committee.
