Q. Make a prediction; describe your vision of the future of the general business environment for your area of expertise or the industries you serve.

Over the last several years we’ve seen additional scrutiny and regulations come out for businesses to provide better transparency to customers. This trend will continue and will result in more and more pressure for companies to have SOC examinations done.

Q. Please tell us one fun fact about yourself.

I home brew beer. It takes a lot of time, but I have a blast doing it. I don’t brew any particular kinds; I’m just working my way through a book of recipes.

Q. Describe your work style.

I like to give people the opportunity to take a project and run with it. I’m always there for questions and input, but I think people learn best when challenged with something they’d never done before. You may not succeed every time, but I encourage people to try and find the solution on their own.

Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life?

My father — he instilled hard work, commitment, reliability and accountability in me. These are qualities he really believed in and now I’ve adopted them into my life.

Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?

Don’t be afraid to try something new. If you have an idea, speak up. We’re always looking for ways to improve, so I encourage people to talk through their thoughts and ideas.
