Meet Nick

Nick has over 20 years of public and private accounting experience with significant, hands-on expertise in ASC 740 (FAS 109), corporate taxation, purchase accounting, opportunity zones consulting, cryptocurrency taxation and business development. He serves numerous industries, including technology, real estate, biotech and entertainment.

He graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Master of Professional Accountancy. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPAs and holds MPAc certification.

Q. What was it that drew you to Armanino?
The firm has a great reputation and a strong tech sector corporate tax practice. The size of Armanino also affords me the opportunity to have a direct impact on clients. And, I have always been impressed with the depth and breadth of Armanino. It was the perfect fit.
Q. What is the toughest decision you have ever made?
Switching majors while in college. Music was my love, but I needed a more stable path. Having a background in music affords me the opportunity to provide creative solutions to client challenges.
Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
I enjoy working with all my clients, especially those that have a positive attitude and who are trustworthy and share our dedication and commitment to collaboration and delivering measurable business results.
Q. Describe your work style.
I would describe it as collaborative, efficient and strategic. It is those attributes that make for successful client engagements.
Q. What’s your proudest moment?
The birth of my daughter.
Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?
I always tell early career accountants to make the CPA exam priority number one.
