Q&A

Q. What is it about accounting and consulting that first drew your interest?
I always knew how to figure out operationally what was going on with a company and its products, but I was always curious about how the company communicated their results and I wanted to know if those results were accurate.
Q. Describe your most memorable Armanino moment.
It is always fun to see new team members at the firm begin to flourish. Every time one of the audit team make a significant contribution either to the department or to our clients, it makes me proud to be associated with them.
Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
It’s a company in Sunnyvale that does peer-to-peer lending. We recently helped them get through their initial filing on form S-1 with the SEC. It required long hours and hard work, but working with really smart people who have vision made it a lot of fun.
Q. What’s it like working for a company that’s been around for so long?
I appreciate that it’s stable, has a lot of good traditions, and we don’t have to build a new culture every year. This is truly a firm that respects life/work balance and we don’t just say it, we live it.
Q. Make a prediction, describe your vision of the business future.
To have found more time to relax with friends and family, while learning to appreciate red wine at an earlier age.
Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your business.
A partner and current best friend whom I worked with during my tenure at Deloitte and Touche. He’s the smartest person I know and continuously sets the bar very high.
Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life
My dad. He’s a self-made success who started with virtually nothing and has proven that hard work and a positive attitude can put you in a position to capitalize on opportunities when they present themselves
