Q&A

Q. What was it that drew you to Armanino?
The firm’s vision was the big draw for me. This partnership group lives the values it espouses when it comes to focus on clients, putting a premium on innovation and empowering the team to create their own future. It’s an incredible culture that’s focused on people and growth.
Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
I like clients who have a vision to grow quickly and the wisdom to take advantage of opportunities in front of them. These companies are usually developing new products and services to make life easier and better for their customers. It’s often these kinds of companies, the ones who are first to market on new opportunities, that bring out the best in our team because they lean into our entrepreneurial experience.
Q. Describe your work style.
I’m an active listener and a learner. I want to understand my clients from their business to their values and goals, and then make those my goals. I’m relationship-oriented and both empower and challenge staff to be creative thinkers who can offer entrepreneurial solutions to the issues at hand. Being collaborative and open-minded brings the best out in people.
Q. What’s your proudest moment?
Teaching our kids important values and skill sets to help them succeed in life. A recent example was when my eldest son had to decide on which college to attend and complete the necessary application forms. I watched him reason through his selections by assessing geography, professors, programs and the schools’ values to help him determine the right fit for him.
Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?
Seize the opportunities that come your way, and don’t be afraid to take on new and exciting opportunities to help you determine what you want to specialize in. Don’t let fear prevent you from growing and becoming the best person you can be.
